Improvement of the California Bearing Ratio of Peat Soil Using Soybean Crude Urease Calcite Precipitation

Due to its high organic matter, moisture content, and low bearing capacity, peat soil needs be stabilized for use as a subgrade. The soybean crude urease calcite precipitation (SCU-CP) method is grouting technique using carbonate biocatalyst. This study aims analyze the effect of SCU-CP density on California ratio (CBR) value obtain best stabilization alternative reducing field’s compaction energy. CBR test was conducted in both soaked unsoaked conditions. with variations 50%, 70%, 90% Standard Proctor used treatment combination optimum solution treated samples. results showed significant increase CBR, an average more than two times compared untreated In terms effort, 70% conditions alternative. However, considering saturation level swelling subgrade layer, proctor can recommended without dewatering. research concluded that could improve soil.
